Angel l Tarot Honolulu

You said, "Work on developing a skill and then use social media to amplify that." Yeah!! I only started doing tarot reading videos to help me get better at actually doing readings, and now I'm LOVING and having fun learning about YouTube and how to make better videos, lol! Win-win all the way! ๐ŸŒธ I think what I really like about where I'm at is that I still have so much to learn and improve, so I can't be bored. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Over saturation and viewers with naturally short attention spans. I predict in 10 years real books will be a trend again.

I love you Maya. You're an inspiration to just be myself and do the things that interest me. โค

I really love this video. Thanks for sharing .

Iโ€™m a photographer and videographer.. (since 06) also a youtuber (since 05) havenโ€™t made content for YouTube for a longggggg time.. and i had a good following.. but for some reason as of last year i lost interest.. since itโ€™s something i love doing Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll get that motivation to start YouTubing again.. but photography will always be my love.

I really appreciate the honesty displayed in this video concerning the life of a You-tuber. I have originally thought the cons can be disparaging but if a creator finds a funnel for profit that will overcome the frustration.

Then both of you explained it's an endless cycle of being alone and creating content at a rapid pace causing burnout and I don't think no one wants that lifestyle. The most valuable things in life areย whats priceless and keep that in mind when picturing your life of success. I've just learned a Medical Doctor works 40-50 hours a week on shift and 10-20 hours off shift a week, their life seems glamorized but working like that I don't think so.

You Guys Are Beautiful...Thanks For The GREAT Advises Ladies!!!

Maya and Chesca,

This video was so helpful and you ladies provided such genuine information. Because I am an actor and a spokesperson, I literally just started a YouTube channel to help create an online presence for my brand. This video has really helped me put some things into perspective as I move forward. My channel is only about a month old, but I feel better about moving forward. Thank you! :-)

Enjoyed watching you ladies speak on this topic. Consistency is key. Too many people are way too focused on what others may think. Just keep producing! leverage social media, monetize your skill sets and stay true to who you are. it's simple! XoXo<3

I needed to hear this ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Good video.

I have a full time job, but I have a YT channel. I would like to use it for more passive income revenue though. I donโ€™t see myself quitting my job any time soon, but I do plan on continuing as a creator.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

FE Grace

Ladies thanks for sharing this thoughtful and real conversation. There are probably ten Youtubers they had channels and content that impacted my life, but they no longer post. A few explained why they were leaving but most disappeared with notice. I have learned to be thankful for having opportunity to learn what I needed to know from each one of them.

Maya it is obvious that you are in a period of transforming and no matter if you stay or go I want to thank you for sharing your journey with the world.

Chesca you are beautiful! I remember when the natural hair community was plentiful on the Tube yet my hair didnโ€™t agree with what was being recommended. Nevertheless, I am glad I stuck with my on hair journey and now it is thriving๐Ÿ™‚. I appreciate that Chesca showed another aspect of natural hair beauty. Finally, your new hair cut and make-up is on point๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Facts!! I like making videos about things I want to share. If I get to make money while doing so that would be an added bonus. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Dorothy James

I definitely agree youtuber has really changed and it should be a place to share your interests. Thank you for sharing this video.

Shelby Danielle

This is exactly what I needed!!! Bless you guys!!!! like FORREAL!

Youtubers are disappearing for various reasons, everything has its season and the golden age of YouTube where you can just be a person expressing their interests are gone. Its now big business and with that comes the pitfalls. Also for some who made certain (trash) content like Onision, hes failing because his target audience are growing up and aint got time for his shenanigans no mo. The 14 year olds now are not interested in the things that interested 14 year olds in 2009. It is what it is.

The ResearcHER

I loved this! Gems dropped!

Clemence Wonder

Thank you Ms Maya, The honesty in this confession is just natural and real I learned a lot. I got a new good insight into @chescaleigh.

Loved this interview Maya! ๐Ÿ’›

Biki John

Thanks so much for this video and this is why I stay subscribed to you. You may not push out as many videos as you used to but you've explained why and when you do bless us with your YouTube presence ( ; - you provide content we can learn from and be inspired by.

It's no suprise if YouTubers who have 'made it' turn to other projects which affects their YT posting schedule. That's growth, setting new challenges etc.

Really enjoyed getting to know Chesca too, she comes across a super cool, talented and grounded creative.

As you said 'Like attracts like' ( ((( :

RiNus World

Chesca, I wanna use your quote in my next couple of videos.

I think the generation that invested turn watching YouTube back in the day had grown. Have children jobs and real life responsibilities to cater too thus less time watching irrelevant videos on YouTube. Now we have the younger ones into mukbangs, pranks, hauls and what not. Then you have youtubers pulling teeth looking for ideas to keep fand attached duh. YouTube us not here to stay if you do it and a hobby or for the love if it, it shouldn't stress people that much like or no likes.

Francesca Andoh

This conversation was really insightful. Loved it and love both your personalities.

Fruit Salad

I was literally just having this conversation with someone yesterday. I just started my YouTube channel last month and I don't understand how YouTubers are expected to upload a video a week with NO break and NO seasons (very rarely) whereas TV shows always have seasons and a lot of times, podcasts have seasons too. I feel like people have very high expectations for YouTube creators especially and I really appreciate you breaking the ice about bringing awareness to this issue.

AsToldBy Tina

Iโ€™m here still but Iโ€™ve been saying this very thing

Gypsy Bouche

Spot on video and I LOVE Broad City & Awkward Black Girl๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’žโœจ so inspiring as usual. 11:00 what I been saying exactly!! The whole 'everyday upload' expectation is ridiculous- the history of sitcoms (not in syndication) do not come on everyday and sometimes it's too much to watch as well๐Ÿ˜„ I upload when I have presentable content or have a desire to share projects or other entrepreneurs but I have business behind the scenes I need to handle and need to zone out to write. If social media went away, Id still be writing and having to do self promoting. I am a writer first, not a YouTuber, and I'd still be having to self publish and promote myself for myself๐Ÿ’ช

Legacy Speaks

I love how this video compares the two processes (YouTube/Social Media vs Industry Film). It really just comes down to constantly evolving in all facets, from content to branding and exposure. I started my channel in 2017 and I realized early on that as time-consuming as this can be, it's a tool for expanding one's message and mission. So much has changed with this platform so it's understandable for Creatives to begin focusing on other avenues and opportunities as we continue to grow.

If social media went away, I would be very happy! It's sad to see kids not being kids no more because of Youtube or just social media in general. And not just kids, adults too!! I feel as though adults don't know who to communicate or be social in person because of social media

YouTube was a platform for actually talent now I feel as though it's all acting as something your not. I think this is why they all get burned out. .

as hum

Enjoyed this so much! Your dynamic is great. And UH! the insights! <3

If social media went away today Iโ€™d be HAPPY AS FUDGE!! Honestly it annoys me every day ๐Ÿ˜ญ but like Iโ€™m still on it. Ppls annoying ass opinions & always coming for people itโ€™s so annoying ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

The Witch

I LOVE her hair. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜

Both of you are beautiful women!!!.... thank you for this video.
