Outside of custody trial, wouldn't protecting the anonymous reporter be off the table if its realized that false report was intentional? To my general understanding, the victim cannot find out who the reporter is, but the police CAN. And if the police are on the victim's side, CPS has no choice but to reveal that reporter, especially if that reporter is going to be charged by the police with filing a false report, fraud, harrassment, and other charges.
