2018 Honda Accord vs. 2018 Toyota Camry Comparison | Edmunds

Midsize family sedans have been steadily losing ground to crossover SUVs for the last couple of years. That trend may slow with the latest redesigns of the most popular sedans: the 2018 Honda Accord and the 2018 Toyota Camry. There's a lot to like about both of these cars, but which one will emerge as the best-in-class?

As far as driving dynamics go, the average driver will notice very little difference. The big differences are found on the inside in feature content, design and technology. In the end, the Honda Accord pulled ahead of the Toyota Camry with a rather sizable lead.

That Camry v6 is a smooth cruiser on the highway all day. Honda turbo 2.0T , nah! And that etch-a-sketch infotainment had got to go.

Scott Stewart

These guys really need to spice up these reviews. It was like watching boring paint dry.

Luis Manrique

Respect their opinions but I don’t want a cvt transmission or a turbocharged engine. If the turbo goes out it will be expensive and a cvt transmission cannot compare to a regular. For this reasons the accord will not be in my garage.

LethalPhatGuy

Really dislike the Camry front end

phil1pd

The Accord is hideous looking.

ArthropodSpidey

This is what happens when an Asian guy tries to act like a snooty white guy

J Fike

Accord added a turbo...major reliability issue wait and see

Fields Carlisle

Toyotas just feel so cheap. Everything looks and feels like it's a few grades cheaper materials, the plastics are scratchier and they definitely do not drive remotely as well as any Honda.

Ronald K. Wiley Jr.

Boring...

travis lewin

When Toyota and honda offer better then your old outdated 36,000 miles warranty we will talk.....

John m

I heard that the transmission on Honda’s are not as good

juan sandoval

Worse review ever. Are they reviewing the guys or the car? The camera was on them all the time

Cavity Creep

fuck that cvt

ThePeoplesChamp

Honda should have stuck with the Accord Euro or introduced the Spirior to Australia. The new Accords/Civics are uglyAF. The Camry XSE is a very nice looking car!

Mr Clarkson

Toyota will outlast the Honda, and have lower cost of Ownership!!

Turbos = more heat and Pressure = less reality!!

John Herrera

Another professional review gives Accord the edge. Sorry Toyota fanboys.

MusicFerLife12

You guys trying to put me asleep or something?

"Hey, give us the two most Boring trim levels you got!"

"Hey a senior with a walker just passed us! My seatbelt stays below the window line, awesome!"

nyhunter256 S.

I agree, but the Accord 2.0T with the 10-sp. auto is so much better than the CVT and faster than the Camry V6, so it's the 2.0T for me.

DIY'er Tropical North

Love and thanks for your vid... BUT IF YOU ALL WANT TO KNOW WHICH CARS ARE 'THE BEST' AND THOSE THAT NEVER DIE AND I MEAN N-E-V-R DIE; COME HELL OR HIGH WATER - GOOD ROADS AND BAD - STEEP HILLS AND ENDLESS CORNERS- GOOD CARE AND BAD CARE - TAKE A TRIP TO *****JAMAICA*****! OF COURSE, IT'S 'THA' CAMRY AND 'THA' COROLLA! PSSSSST I OWN AND DRIVE AN '07 ACCORD AS I SPEAK - NO BIAS/PERSONAL PREFERENCE!

Ray Scott

J

Raihan Abdul

when you see the accord in flesh you wouldnt even care to think of the camry!

Vicente Rojas

I agree, the accord all the way! I just bought the 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T model and absolutely love it! Thanks for the AWESOME review and helpful advice

doctorhonda111

annoying ringing sound in the background.........wtf

TheLucid One

Agreed. Accord

Abdallah AlSaleh

If you are ready to pay more then go with the accord to get a premium interior and quality driving. Go with the Camry if you want a more reliable car that gets the job done

Pixel Dust

CVT is a soulless device

dean gordon

Why no digital speedometer in the honda? So much space in the cluster

Astro10024

Camry, sure if you want to be an Uber driver. Accord all the way!

coffeeguy

I would only get the stick

area859

Why would you compare the accord and camry in 2 different trim levels?? That doesn't make sense and not a fair comparison.

JOSE DOMINGUEZ

You are such a biased as usual high. Trim to a lower trim and why don’t you talk about the unreliability of Honda’s turbo 4 and tranny’s you guys are among the worst reviewers

Ruhel Production

Kiss my ass Honda haters. Your just jealous because Honda is the world's largest engine maker. They make engine for plane, speedboats, motorbike, lawnmower, cars, hotair-baloon, robots. Honda is a way bigger competitor, a complete different league.

Kiss my ass...asshole haters

Kiran C

How can you compare two different trim level. True comparison would be middle trim level for both, not one Touring and other SE.

j4jacks

The most important question is which one will last the longest with the least maintenance expense?

Yes It's Me

Should have reviewed the 2.0T, jesus so much diff of a car between that and the 1.5.

Tony Reyes

Toyota Camry ❤️🥊

1quickster

It's like this Honda over a Toyota while Lexus over an Acura.

Joseph Name

Accord so ugly. Grill huge probably to cool engine but looks gross

NateSB

I like the Camry way better because I’m my opinion the Honda looks like a Hatchback by it slopes behind and the Camry still looks like a real Sedan, and the rearguard Transmission is just my reliable than the CVT.

Mecury Marauder

Great review on a great car. I did extensive research on these two cars and the others in this class. I also read every car magazine and watched every Youtube video I could find that compared all the 2018 family sedans. Following all of that I came to an educated and informed conclusion - I bought a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring (in Modern Steel), and LOVE it. The engine is smooth, it is plenty powerful when needed (I unintentionally smoked the tires pulling out into traffic), the eCVT is smooth and always ready, and this car is quiet. However, I will say that the 47/47/47 mpg rating is not accurate. I recently got 55.7 mpg city mpg. And I average in the HIGH 40s and low 50s when combined. It has so much technology. Everyday I'm learning new things it can do. This is a FANTASTIC car. Great looks (MANY compliments on the color and the car's looks from friends and strangers), superb quality and a quiet and luxurious ride. And it's a FUN car to drive. I may have to add fuel stabilizer to the

1 Rami

Haha. Accord always wins critics’ choice. !!!!

Aminu Yazid

Is Honda and Toyota ready for their ev cars?

Harinder Garcha

Camry

sd mods

I need to see these guys date some of the same women, then review them. I would watch the shit out of that.

Big Time

There is no way to compare the regular sedan grandma's camry to a sports car sedan accord 2.0t. .

iggibars

Mannnn!! Toyota fans are really butthurt that people like the Accord more...making excuses for everything. The Accord is the better car. Subjective opinions don't make the Camry a better car.

Robert Province

I bought the manual.... not a journalist.

sip

accord is better

peyton jitsopha

In the long run which car is better between Honda Accord 1.5 or Toyota Camry 4 cylinders? Which one has better resell price?

Nolay Austin

Accord > Camry
