Travel Health Insurance: Don’t Forget It
December 1, 2009 Filed Under: Insurance
Travel health insurance provides health insurance coverage while travelling in most case while travelling abroad. Generally, the insurance provides coverage for medical costs incurred during travel and in some cases also covers evacuation.
Travel health insurance is usually bundled with other coverage such as travel cancellation insurance, accident insurance, baggage loss, emergency evacuation and medical expense coverage.
Travelling to a foreign country without travel insurance is risky as things always seem to happen when you least expect them. None of us want to think about all the things that can go wrong when we’re on that much needed vacation, or a business trip. Unfortunately many things can and do go wrong.
It’s possible to become ill while you’re away, or even get sick right before boarding that cruise ship for your well deserved holiday. Travel health insurance is set up to protect you from this type of occurrence, but before you establish a travel health insurance with your insurance agent, you need to know exactly what it is and what coverage to look for to suit your needs.
