How to Snuggle Up and Keep Warm on Cold Nights
October 22, 2009 Filed Under: Business Appliances
During winter, nights can often be really, very cold. Irrespective of the number of covers you put on the bed or hotwater bottles you use to snuggle up to, it simply doesn’t seem to to warm up the temperature in your bed.
The elderly as well, often have a problem retaining body warmth at night during cold weather and many homes for the elderly these days supply either hotwater bottles, heated mattress pads, or electric covers.
Apart from hotwater bottles, which are great, there are other ways to solve the problem. One is to snuggle up on a heated mattress pads or an electric blanket over you. They’re simple to use – simply put the plug in the socket and the warmth comes automatically. Turn on a little while before going to bed and you wont notice that it’s cold outside at all.
Todays technology makes this type of ‘bed warmer’ very advanced and safe. Used carefully, they are safer than ever – but make sure you purchase a new heated mattress pad that has the proper certification and meets with standards that apply in your country of residence. If you’re wary about having the heater on while you’re in bed, consider simply turning on the heated mattress pad beforehand to warm up your bed before getting into it – so you don’t actually sleep with the heated pad turned on. When it’s time for bed, simply unplug the mattress pad and slide into a warm, cozy bed.
If you live somewhere, where it’s really cold at bed time, you can stay warm all night with a heated mattress pad, electric blanket, foot warming pad or heated throwover. There are plenty of offers available online, so start searching and comparing features and prices for your heated mattress pad before the cold winter nights set in.
